Toyota’s local arm has launched a new online conversation platform designed to give the firm’s customers more ability to ask any questions they have about the car industry, Toyota products, and more.
Debuting this week with a marketing campaign that includes the production of a video commercial, ‘Hey Toyota’ has multiple forms.
Curious customers will be able to pose questions through an online chat section on Toyota New Zealand’s website, through social media, and at their local dealership.
“There is so much information available across digital channels and customers often want a quick answer to a specific question for them,” says Toyota New Zealand marketing and customer general manager Andrew Davis.
“We want to be able to respond quickly and also share these answers with other customers that may be seeking the same information.”
The advert, which can be watched below in full, details a plethora of potential customer questions, ranging from trade-in queries to whether certain models are eligible for the government’s Clean Car Discount.
The brand adds in its statement about the Hey Toyota that the tool will be able to also answer questions about finance, new product updates, promotions, and “almost anything Toyota and its customers wish to discuss, learn, and share”.
The incentive comes during a period of unprecedented change in the motoring industry, as it tries to pivot from internal combustion engine vehicles to electric vehicles while also embracing a more online-based sales model.
Davis adds that Hey Toyota isn’t just about giving answers to questions, but also about trying to make the information given to customers more straightforward and accessible.
“We’re embracing the changes to the automotive industry and want to take our customers with us. Hey Toyota gives us the platform to discuss new automotive jargon and make it easy and accessible for all New Zealanders to get the information they want,” he adds.
“We’ll be able to converse with Kiwis on their terms based on where they’re at. We might invite the big questions around mobility, sustainability, and society as well as the more technical questions such as how a hybrid engine works or how to plug in an EV charger.”
