In what has become one of its largest handovers yet, the team at SG Fleet UK successfully delivered more than 90 new cars and light commercial vehicles to one of its largest fleet customers the Clarion Housing Group.
The week-long delivery project was conducted at the Brands Hatch motoring racing circuit.
SG Fleet UK arranged for all of the vehicles to be delivered to Brands Hatch, where its team prepared each one with new tools, ladders and fuel cards before a final inspection and clean.
Team members Ian Birch, Heather Cummins, Natalie Woodhall, Dennis Gordon, Oliver Stevenson and Andy McCabe from SG Fleet UK personally handed over every single vehicle to Clarion’s new drivers.
SG Fleet UK says five months ago it was given an deadline of August 1 by Clarion Housing Group to complete the project and the vehicles weren’t even on order.
In that timeframe SG Fleet UK says it identified suitable stock and pipeline vehicles from three different manufacturers to meet Clarion’s required specifications and sourced the vehicles through five different retailers, while working with four different partners for livery, racking, GPS and conversion requirements.
The dealers involved were Intercountry Truck & Van Mercedes-Benz, Western Mercedes-Benz, e Star Truck & Van, Holdcroft Renault Commercial and Westway Nissan. The equipment suppliers included Gentili UK, System Edstrom UK, Lightfoot and Media Fleet.
At the end of this week-long project, SG Fleet UK says it resolved any minor issues on site so that the Clarion drivers weren’t left inconvenienced, but instead were happy employees in a brand new vehicle, fully equipped for the job and ready to start work.
It also had a couple of spare vehicles, just in case, also ready to be redeployed elsewhere in the fleet.
SG Fleet UK says it team at Brands Hatch walked thousands of steps, drunk gallons of tea and in Birch’s case, spent nearly a week away from home to oversee everything.
