The recent extension to the Clean Car Discount programme rebate period provides a further opportunity for people to test MG’s new plug-in hybrid (PHEV).
Now available through to the end of March next year, the $5750 rebate effectively reduces the price of a new MG HS PHEV from $52,990 to $47,240 (plus on-road costs).
MG says there is a great supply of the new models at its 14 dealerships.
“One of the appeals of the MG HS PHEV is that it is a luxury vehicle available at a very affordable price,” MG Motor Australia and New Zealand chief executive Peter Ciao says.
“It delivers environmentally-sustainable motoring as it is able to operate in full electric vehicle mode and can also do longer trips without the need to stop and charge.”
The MG HS PHEV’s total output from the electric motor with the 1.5L turbo combustion engine is 189kW of power and 370Nm of torque, delivering 1.7L/100km combined cycle fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of 39g/km while providing up to 63km electric driving range.
The new model comes with an array of luxury features as standard, including MG Pilot Driver Safety Technology System, a large panoramic Stargazer sunroof, 360-degree camera as well as front heated and electrically adjustable leather sports seats with Alcantara trim.
