Toyota New Zealand has revealed the pricing and spec for the latest entry to its SUV line-up, the Corolla Cross, ahead of its late-2022 arrival.
The range kicks off at $41,990 for the entry-level GX. It’s followed by the $44,990 GXL and $48,990 Limited. All three are front-wheel drive.
All-wheel drive is set to only be offered in the flagship Limited spec, at a cost of $51,990.
Each price includes on-road costs as part of Toyota’s ‘Drive Happy’ scheme. And while the brand has yet to confirm specifics, each model is set to qualify for a Clean Car Discount rebate.
By comparison, Toyota’s Yaris Cross range starts at $32,990, the C-HR range (now also hybrid only) starts at $40,990, and the RAV4 range starts at $38,990. The cheapest Yaris Cross and RAV4 hybrids are priced at $36,990 and $46,990, respectively.
It doesn’t matter which model you opt for, all come with the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol hybrid powertrain, producing 135kW of power and 190Nm of torque.
Toyota quotes fuel consumption figures of 4.8L/100km in two-wheel drive grades, and emissions of 107g/km.
As standard, the GX comes with the Toyota Safety Sense tech suite (inclusive of radar cruise, lane tracing, blind spot monitoring, and more), an 8-inch touchscreen, and more.
The GXL adds a larger 10.5-inch touchscreen, satnav, mobile assistant, parking sensors front and rear, rear cross-traffic automatic braking, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with faux-leather appointed upholstery, and more.
Finally you have the Limited, which adds a 9-speaker JBL sound system, 18-inch wheels, a power tailgate with kick opening, heated front seats with electric adjustment, leather accented upholstery, a heated steering wheel, and more.
The all-paw Corolla Cross Limited features largely identical spec, although the two extra driven wheels increase its claimed consumption and emissions to 4.9L/100km and 112g/km, respectively. All models are rated to tow 750kg.
