As it prepares for its market debut, Opel New Zealand has announced pricing for its first Kiwi-bound electric vehicle; the Mokka-e.
The returning brand has confirmed the starting price of its Mokka-e electric SUV. Available in a single SRi spec, the Mokka-e will be priced from $69,990 plus on-road costs.
Factoring in the $8625 Clean Car Discount, and the Mokka-e’s price drops to just over $60,000.
Those wanting to order a Mokka-e can make a reservation for $100. The model is set to arrive in September.
In an email to customers, Opel New Zealand added that the first 100 customers will join what the brand calls the Opel 100 Team.
Those customers will receive “exclusive invites to our brand launch event in November with soon to be announced special guests, refreshments and an official Opel merchandise gift bag, as well as ongoing partner events with some of NZ’s movers and shakers”.
The Mokka-e’s range is rated at 363km per charge, by virtue of its 50kWh lithium-ion battery. It comes mated to a 100kW/260Nm electric motor, with power sent to the front wheels. The battery comes with an eight-year or 160,000km or 70% capacity warranty.
The Edition comes with 17-inch wheels, a 7-inch digital cluster and 7-inch touchscreen, lane departure warning, heated steering wheel, heated front seats, blind spot monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, and more as standard.
The SRi comes standard with a bevy of two-tone paint scheme options, 18-inch wheels, red exterior highlights, and more.
Tech highlights include standard radar cruise control, lane positioning assist, a 12-inch digital cluster, a 10-inch touchscreen, parking assist, heated steering wheel, heated front seats, and a massage driver’s seat.
The Mokka-e scoops a minor win over its architectural cousin, the Peugeot e-2008. It’s a touch cheaper, with the Peugeot priced from $73,990.
