The powerful MG4 XPower electric hatchback and MG’s “EX4” concept will both publicly debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed (July 13-16).
Whether they will come here may be revealed at the Australian and New Zealand MG press launch on August 8 when the local line-up is expected to be released.
The new dual motor (front 150kW) and (rear 170kW) MG4 XPower is available to order in the United Kingdom from July 2023, priced from NZ$75,501 (36,495 pounds), with MG Motor UK announcing official pricing and specifications.
It’s reportedly able to deliver 320kW of power and 600Nm torque, capable of sprinting from zero to about 100km/h in 3.8 seconds.
Exterior enhancements include a two-tone black roof, orange brake calipers, new 18-inch alloy wheels and polished trim accents, and an exclusive new Racing Green option.
It’s underpinned by the MG4’s modular scalable platform (MSP).
New technological upgrades are included, such as a “dynamic cornering control system” with a locking electronic differential and intelligent motor control.
Suspension upgrades feature recalibrated spring and damper tuning, stiffer anti-roll bars and sharper steering, with suspension stiffness increased by up to 25%
Regenerative braking software has been reworked to allow one pedal driving in suitable situations, and braking has been improved.
Bridgestone Turanza tyres provide good grip without compromising rolling efficiency.
Meanwhile, MG Motor UK has confirmed a new concept car, the “EX4”,will be shown in the First Glance paddock at the event.
The new MG Cyberster will also be at Goodwood where Lotus will have its electric Eletre SUV and Evija hypercar while Hyundai is expected to show its Ioniq 5 N.
