Mazda New Zealand has added a 1.9-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine to its BT-50 model range which it believes offers the lowest C02 emissions of any double cab ute in the market.
The new Mazda BT-50 GSX and GTX 1.9L models have a CO2 output of 205g/km (3P-WLTP test cycle).
“Customers will welcome the low CO2 output and economical nature of this new 1.9L powertrain as well as the considerably lower CCD fee. We believe that these factors are becoming a more important consideration for buyers,” Mazda New Zealand managing director David Hodge says.
The four-cylinder turbo diesel offers 110kW of power and 350Nm of torque and is capable of towing a 3000kg braked or 750kg unbraked trailer. Furthermore, the maximum payload also increases to 1150kg for the 2WD GSX and to 1130kg for the 2WD GTX.
Additionally, the GSX grade – both 2WD and 4WD models have had a suspension update to improve the ride quality of the vehicle, particularly when unladen, while still enabling appropriate levels of payload to be carried with ease.
Other enhancements to the list of safety equipment include a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, (TPMS) now equipped to the GTX, Limited and Takami models for added safety by alerting the driver to a loss of tyre pressure.
All BT-50 models have a 5-Star ANCAP Safety Rating (2022 tested) and feature a total of eight air bags including a driver’s knee and a driver’s far-side air bag.
All new Mazda BT-50 customers receive a five-year/150,000km new vehicle warranty, a $250 (inc. GST) fixed price servicing deal for five-years/150,000km, and free Mazda On-Call roadside assistance for five-years/unlimited km.
The Mazda BT-50 comes in 7 exterior colours – including the newly added Rock Grey Mica.
The 1.9L GSX and GTX 2WD models are now available from Mazda Dealers nationwide in New Zealand priced at $48,740* and $52,740* (including GST, plus ORC).
