The Hyundai 2023 Ioniq 6 “electrified streamliner” makes its New Zealand debut at National Fieldays on Wednesday November 30.
The four-door EV has 614km range, features ultra-fast charging (10% to 80% in 25 minutes), and goes on sale in summer 2023 with pricing announced closer to the on-sale date.
“Ioniq 6 is a vehicle for its time,” says Hyundai New Zealand chief executive Andy Sinclair.
“Internal power outlets can charge phones and laptops, while an external power outlet can charge larger electronic devices – including another electric vehicle.”
Sinclair says the new Ioniq builds on the success of its previous iterations.
“The dual electric motors, ultra-low drag coefficient, and all-wheel drive capacity promise the sportiness a new-age vehicle deserves, while a roomy interior and ultra-fast charging offer the reliability and practicality busy families need.”
The new single-curved aerodynamic profile creates Hyundai’s lowest drag coefficient of 0.21, assisted by a low nose, active air flaps, wheel gap reducers, and an elliptical wing-inspired spoiler.
“Coupled with state-of-the-art driver assistance, a voice recognition system, touchscreen infotainment dashboard, and customisable interior ambient lighting, the Ioniq 6 is truly a vehicle for the modern age,” says Sinclair.
“Beneath the sleek design lie environmental secrets at the core of Ioniq. Both the interior and exterior are made using sustainable materials. Even the carpets are made from recycled fishing nets.”
