General Motors Australia and New Zealand have issued a recall for selected Holden Acadias due to an issue with the reverse camera.
“Due to a hardware issue, the rear view camera in these vehicles may fail or function intermittently,” reads the company’s Australian recall notice.
“If the rear view camera is not functioning properly, the rear visibility is reduced and could increase the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to any persons located behind the vehicle.”
The recall only affects a very small number of Acadia models from 2019 and 2020.
According to the notice, just 12 cars have been recalled, with many of these likely based in Australia. The full list of impacted VINs can be seen below.
“Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by General Motors Australia and New Zealand Pty Ltd (GM) and asked to contact their local dealer to have the coaxial cables replaced, free of charge.”
The notice adds that the part is unlikely to become available until early next year.
“GM will contact the registered owners when the part is available, tentatively Jan – March 2023,” says the notice.
