Staff members from FleetPartners Auckland recently volunteered a helping hand at the food rescue charity Fair Food New Zealand by sorting leftover food from supermarkets and stores into distribution boxes for local community groups and other charitable organisations.
The boxes of rescued food sorted by the FleetPartners Auckland volunteers were then dispatched to Emerge Swanson, Kai Avondale, MODM Women’s Refuge, Mercy Waitemata, Asylum Seekers support trust, Greenlane Christian Centre, Humanity First and Give a Kid a Blanket.
Fair Food NZ focuses on reducing landfill and waste, for the benefit of the community.
In 2022, it saved 621,720 kgs of food waste and 1.14 million CO2 emissions and provided 1.7 million meals.
