Citroen New Zealand has announced its line-up and pricing for its new C5 Aircross; the brand’s first plug-in sold in local showrooms.
The model will be offered in either pure petrol form or as a plug-in hybrid. Both come in identical ‘Shine’ specification.
The C5 Aircross Shine petrol will be priced from $58,990, with the Shine plug-in hybrid priced from $79,990.
The latter’s pricing means it narrowly undercuts the $80,000 threshold for the government’s Clean Car Discount. This means it’s eligible for a $5750 rebate. Thanks to its low emissions rating, the petrol model is also eligible for a rebate ($1201).
Both models make use of a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine paired to an automatic transmission. The combustion Aircross’ powertrain produces 133kW of power, with the plug-in hybrid 165kW.
Along with a new hybrid option, the updated C5 also inherits tweaked exterior styling and an all-new dashboard layout, with Citroen boasting that the heightened positioning of the touchscreen makes it easier to use.
Standard kit across both models includes a 12.3-inch digital cluster, a 10-inch touchscreen, and second-row seating that allows for all three occupants to slide and recline their seats individually.

Zywot adds that more electrified models that will qualify for clean car standard benefits are in the pipeline for our market.
