The BYD Atto 3 electric SUV will be available to test drive at New Zealand BYD showrooms before July’s end.
It has officially landed in New Zealand and customer deliveries begin at the end of August.
The first shipment of dealer demonstrators has arrived at the Ports of Auckland and will be available to test drive in BYD dealerships around the country before the end of July, says BYD New Zealand.
It notes exceptional demand for the Atto 3 and advises prospective buyers to contact their local BYD dealer for a test drive and to secure one promptly.
The first half of 2022 has proven hugely successful for BYD, with the brand now ranked as the world’s top selling new energy vehicle (NEV) manufacturer, recording H1 NEV sales of 641,530, up a colossal 315% compared to H1 2021.
“This is extraordinary timing, when we have just landed the first of our BYD Atto 3 vehicles in New Zealand,” says BYD New Zealand’s brand manager Warren Willmot.
“The uptake from our local customers of this exciting new product has far surpassed initial expectations, with pre-sales almost selling out the first shipment. This is largely due to BYD cementing its leading position globally in the NEV industry.
“It is very encouraging to see this amount of interest at the beginning of BYD’s journey in New Zealand and we can’t wait to see how the brand continues to expand and grow.”
Due to the high level of interest, BYD New Zealand has managed to secure additional production of the Atto 3 from the factory.
Pricing starts at $52,990 for the standard range and tops out at $57,990 for the extended range, plus on road costs.
Both variants are also eligible for the current full EV Clean Car Discount rebate of $8625.
The Atto 3 is also comprehensively covered by a six-year/150,000km new vehicle warranty with six-year roadside assistance package, while the Blade Battery is covered by an eight-year/160,000km (whichever comes first) warranty.
