Latest vehicle offerings are up for grabs at this year’s Fieldays including the country’s first electric ute, zero-emission vans plus a range of other EV options.
While primarily an agricultural display, the Mystery Creek event is also an important venue for automotive brands to present their light commercials, particularly 4×4 utes, and also SUVs to buyers in the sector.
On the BYD stand, AutoTalk caught up with brand manager Warren Willmot to hear more about the ongoing expansion of the brand throughout the country.
Four new BYD showrooms will be operational by the end of 2022 with further expansion confirmed with dealers in Hawke’s Bay, Northland, and a service centre in Queenstown all due to open before the end of March next year. That will bring BYD New Zealand representation to 11 showrooms across the country. At this year’s Fieldays, the brand is showcasing its Atto 3 which saw first customer deliveries in August this year.
Meanwhile, Isuzu Utes NZ says it’s still offering “tough deals” on its award-winning D-Max ute or new 7-seat MU-X SUV.
Hyundai is offering its annual Good as Gold Fieldays deals. “Whether you’re heading to the Fieldays event or to your local Hyundai dealership, you can enjoy special finance options, excellent trade-in values, and unique special offers across our range,” it says. Offers are only available until December 3. The Hyundai 2023 Ioniq 6 “electrified streamliner” also makes its national debut at the Mystery Creek event.
Ford NZ is showcasing the new all-electric Mustang Mach-E and E-Transit van. The new generation Ford Ranger also makes its mark.
At the Mitsubishi stand, the team is introducing the 2023 Triton GSR 4WD with a special Fieldays offer. For those after a vehicle that’s slanted more towards lifestyle and comfort over a workhorse, Mitsubishi’s Pajero line-up is also worth a look.
Meanwhile, LDV is helping the New Zealand market get one step closer to the prospect of fully electric utes with its T60 EV – the only zero-emissions ute currently on the market here.
